Aberdeen Quiz Night
Over 120 members and their families turned out for what proved to be an immensely enjoyable night. Over £1,200 was raised on the night. Our winners this year were CAA member Sandy Sangster and his family.
Glasgow Quiz Night
CAA managed to raise over £1,400. Many thanks to all those who gave their time to organise the quiz and to all those who attended and made it such an enjoyable night.
Workers’ Memorial Day – Glasgow & Aberdeen
CAA members gathered once again to remember. Remember the Dead, Fight for the Living is the slogan for International Workers Memorial Day (IWMD). The trade union UNISON called on their members to lobby M.P’s to ‘Defend Health & Safety’:
UK Government exempts mesothelioma victims from ‘no win, no fee’ legislation
The BBC has reported that the UK government is to exempt mesothelioma victims from changes to no-win no-fee legislation which were originally contained in the Legal Aid, Sentencing and Punishment of Offenders Bill.
Insurers found liable in ‘trigger Issue’ liability claims
The Supreme Court has ruled that insurers are liable to pay compensation. The ruling means that those who were exposed to asbestos while working for companies which subsequently went bust are entitled to pursue compensation.
